We officially get the chance to kick Leno in the balls, in a few months.
Conan O'Brien will be taking the 11pm time slot on TBS in November.
George Lopez will move to the midnight slot.
“The good news: I will be doing a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I’ll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show,” O’Brien tweeted today, hours before his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour launches in Eugene, Oregon. “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly,” O’Brien, who will emcee this year’s Bonnaroo Festival, said in a press release.
The move follows months of speculation that O'Brien would be hosting a show to air on Fox.
I know I speak for many people when I express how happy this makes me.
In other news...
Many of you have written me notes asking why I have not written anything in months. Well, I am able to brain-dump on Facebook. The blog takes real time.
As many of you know, I have been busy teaching in a terrific school. As the summer approaches, I will begin blogging more regularly. I have also solicited some contributions from some very cool writers.
